Our Story

1_edited.jpg

Hi! I’m Marisa, the owner of The Pineland Arts Center. I’m a Medford mom, certified music teacher, and lifelong lover of the arts.

The Pineland Arts Center was born from a passion for creativity, community, and teaching. Before becoming a small business owner, I spent eight years as the music teacher and choral director at Rice Elementary School in Marlton, sharing my love of the arts with hundreds of students and families. Those years showed me firsthand just how powerful creative arts education can be.

In 2020, I felt the pull toward something bigger: a place where children, adults, families, artists, and educators could come together to learn, create, and connect. That dream first came to life when I purchased The ARTery Studio on Main Street in Medford. What began as a small, cozy art studio quickly grew into something much more. We knew that eventually, we needed a space that could grow with us.

That’s when the former Taunton Firehouse on Fairview Road entered the picture. From the moment I walked through its doors, I could see the enormous potential: room for a full clay studio, dedicated classrooms, a movement space, an event hall, and so much more. It was a dream, but it was going to take a lot of love (and a lot of work!) to get there. With the support of my family, we made the leap!

I packed up my little art studio on Main Street. After many trailer loads of art supplies, furniture, shelves, and everything else we had accumulated over the years, we officially made the move to our new home on Fairview Road and began the Renovation Phase! Now it was a true family and community project: architectural plans, construction, ripping up carpets, painting, problem-solving, and transforming room after room over 2 years.

My dad spearheaded so much of the construction, pouring his heart into the building, while friends, family, and our amazing staff all played a part in bringing the space to life. We hosted our official Ribbon Cutting in June of 2026.

Today, that old firehouse is The Pineland Arts Center: a home for creative arts education right here in Medford!

And we’re still growing. My hope is that PAC will always be a place where people feel welcome to try something new, develop their skills, find their creative community, and experience just how important the arts can be. Thanks for being a part of it!
